Auld, who’s trying to challenge for the starting job in Ottawa, started back-to-back games against the Anaheim Ducks and Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday and Saturday – a pair of teams that had a combined 4-7-3 record – as Martin Gerber was sidelined with a lower body injury.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild nearly gave away another game.Rick Nash’s high stick and a favourable video review helped them hang on. Owen Nolan came off injured reserve to get an assist and his first goal for Minnesota, and the Wild beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 2-1 on Saturday night after Nash’s tip-in with 11.
