Sean Avery suspended six games by NHL for comments about ex-girlfriends

NEW YORK - The NHL has suspended Dallas Stars agitator Sean Avery for six games for making a crude comment deemed detrimental to the game. The decision comes a day after Avery's hearing in New York with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman.

  1. My question to everyone is this. Who is at fault here, Sean Avery, or all of the teams that continue to sign someone that has a 90% chance of screwing your team over with some selfish act?

    Avery is who he is, teams need to realize this and figure out that he is a risk. If a team wants to risk signing him, that’s fine. But don’t complain and act offended when something happens.

  2. Paul: You’re absolutely correct. In fact, Brett Hull should be fired for signing Avery because clearly he forgot to consult his ever-perfect crystal ball just before handing him the contract, what could he have been thinking?
