  1. A comment on our queen otherwise known as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth… she is our queen. We are a constitutional monarchy thus we have a concept of the crown that there is a power greater than our political leaders. In Canada it is the crown that makes and dissolves parliament (analogous to the US congress) calls elections and swears in the ministers that run our country. When we go to war it is the crown (ie Queen Elizabeth) that is at war. When she is not in the country we have a governor general that fills her role. When she is in Canada she automatically takes her role again and has full power to makes and dissolves parliament, call elections and swears in ministers. However in practice a certain amount of independence is preserved and she only comes to Canada when none of these duties will fall on her. So to answer your question Queen Elizabeth is the queen of Canada!!!
