  1. I’ll listen to the podcast later tonight, but I like the videos. I’ll have to remember to check them out here. Sometimes when you guys talk about a certain play, I do try to find a video of it. So it’s cool that you’d take the time to put them up here for us. I sent you an email about that Zetterberg goal, so I’m interested to hear if you read it! lol

  2. oh, regarding Clemmensen being sent down… before this season, nobody would have said this guy should be in the NHL. However, waivers aside, the Devils still might want to reward Clemmensen by allowing him to get playing time in the AHL instead of sitting on the bench for weeks. No pun intended.

  3. What on earth is going on with Dallas, their 1-4 on this homestand and their getting hammered against Pittsburgh this afternoon. To me, the massive injuries and faitague of Marty Turco are starting to get to him. I’m going to the Dallas VS. Montreal game next Sunday and they need a strong road trip as they will play the California teams this week (San Jose on Tuesday, L.A. on Thursday and Anaheim on Friday). They also need to pick some offensive help before the deadline. In adidtion, they need address their back up goalie situation becuase Tobais Stephen can’t cut in the NHL I think.

  4. Road to the Champions League Update:

Basically all but one of the big 7 EURO Leagues (RUS, SWE, FIN, CZE, SVK, GER, and SUI) just ended their regular season. Here’s the teams that have clinched Champions League Qualfying Spots.

    CZE: Slavia Prague
FIN: Either JYP Jyvskla, Kalpa Kuopio, or Jorkeit Helsinki
    RUS: Salavat Yulayev Ufa
    SWE: BK Farjested
    GER: Eisbaren Berlin
    SUI: SC Bern
    SVK: HC Kosice

These teams (Except for FIN) have clinched spots for the qualfiying spots for next year’s champions league. The Leagues in RUS, CZE, FIN and SWE will go into the final qualfiying round will teams from SVK, SUI and GER will go into the prelim round. The playoffs have just started or about to start up and the champions from the EURO Big 7 will go automatically into the group stage while the league champions from leagues ranked 8-22 will go into the prelim qualfiying round.

  5. Guys- I like the revamped format. I think it is more like last season, which I listened to religously. The coverage of all 30 clubs was nice, but too much. Especially when some clubs are really only jockeying for basement posistion. And 90+ mins was too long. I think an hour is perfect to get to the big stories, games and transactions and get good insight to them. Another excellent show and looking forward to following the playoffs with you…

  6. Guys, I have added a brief “Behind the Scenes” feature on Eddie’s Page as mentioned in the last show. It’s was done basically to getting our feet wet with some video. Hopefully we will have more video features in the future. Perhaps some video power plays. If you have any ideas, let us know here or at puckpodcast@aol.com

  7. Ya, if you guys don’t mind doing all the work to put the videos up on the main page, please do keep it up! It’s a nice addition to compliment the show, and it will enourage people to talk about the clips they just watched on the main page.

  8. Another good show. The new format is great, more like the original style you guys had. Now I don’t have any reason to skip any part of the podcast (going through each and every team could get a little boring sometimes)…

  9. I’ve mostly been a lurker to this site but started listening to the podcast last August. You guys put on a great show, whether it’s in a living room or in the studio. I think I like this format better because it does make the podcast shorter and it’s about the quality, not quantity. This way, you can use the third period to fit in emails and fantasy updates like you used to do.

    Keep Up the Great Work

  10. Hey guys. Great show as always and still my favorite NHL show on podcast, radio, or TV.

A word on the Whitney trade… I think that it could work out with the Ducks. The problem with Whitney on the Pens is that they already have Gonchar quarterbacking the powerplay and Letang who, while maybe not as good at offense as Whitney, brings more defensive talent to the team.

The Penguins are 9th in the NHL for goals for but 25th in the league for goals against. They don’t need another offensive defensiveman taking up a huge portion of cap space. This move will allow the Pens to get rid of a wing in the summer and use that money to shore up their defense. I also think that Chris Kunitz should work well with Crosby as I see him as an upgrade from Ryan Malone who played well on Crosby’s line.

  11. Just watched some of the highlights from the games last night. I felt exhausted myself just watching the downey/Janssen fight which went on quite a while.

  12. JYP Jvaskyla is the last of the euro big 7 to clinch a Champions League Qualifer. To follow the Euro League Playoffs, log on to http://www.iihf.com and click on road to CHL or go into my message board http://www.internationalhockey.net .

In some of the other leagues, in the EBEL (Austria) the Semifinals are now set as the top seeded EC KAC will take on the 5th seeded team Linz Black Wings while the #2 seeded Vienna Capitals will play the #3 seed and defending champions Red Bull Salzburg.

In Switzerland, defending NLA and CHL Champions Zurich SC Lions could be out early as they are on the ropes as they trail 3-0 against Fribourg Gotteron as they have lost 3 close games 1-3, 0-3, and 1-2. While all 3 games in the series between HC Davos VS. HC Lugano have been to OT where HC Davos is currently up 2-1.

  13. Guys: I enjoyed seeing the video of where you guys actually tape the show, very cool! After seeing you both in the flesh, as it were, I’m guessing that Eddie all laced up and in pads vs. Doug laced up and in pads going into a corner after a puck would result in a Doug-stain on the boards! Am I wrong? EnjoyED the show as always, thanks!

  14. 2 huge shocks in the road the 2009-2010 champions league.

First in the KHL, the top seeded Salavat Yulayev Ufa were ousted by the lowest ranked team in the playoffs in 4 games by Avangard Omsk where 3 of the 4 games went to OT. Since Salavat was the top seed in Russia, they are still gurnatied a spot in the final qualfiying round. But still, a shocking ousting from many who thought that this one of the favorites to win the KHL Title this year and be one of the favorites to win the CHL Next season.

The other big upset was in Switzerland, defending NLA and CHL Champions Zurich SC Lions are out of the playoffs after being sweeped by Fribourg-Gotteron in 4 games stright with the lions being ousted in a 3-2 OT loss. Since ZSC wasn’t the top playoff seed, they are out of next year’s CHL.
