  1. The funny thing about the Grabner radio call is that it wasn’t his first hat-trick in the NHL because he had one as a member of the Canucks.

    I was shocked when VAN traded him and floored when FLA put him on waivers.

  2. Tough break Eddie! Yeah that was a bad call even for me, a 2nd year ref, to support a fellow referee. The correct thing that the ref should have done under USA hockey rules to blew the whistle as soon as your player left the bench early for the goalie. The correct call is premature substitution, face-off center ice…no penalty. At least your team would still have the fair chance to pull the goalie and try to tie with an extra skater.

  3. Oh yeah, at least, you, Eddie, didnt complain about referees’ overtime conspiracy, referees don’t get paid more for overtime. Better luck and refs next season.

  4. Probobly splittling hairs, but Joel Quenville couldn’t get an ulcer due to his team’s play, as ulcers are caused by bacteria or taking certains meds, not stress.
