In the third period we’ll have an interview with hockey author Brian Kennedy to talk about his latest book and go around the boards with our fan correspondents.

After hearing about the chap with the unblemished record of Sabre watching I was reminded of my own rather shorter and less fortunate run of games having taken in 4 games involving my beloved Red Wings over my 2 trips to California from my home in Preston, England. Only 1 during the 1st short visit which was in Anaheim in 2003 and with the Wings on a winning streak of 10 straight and 14 unbeaten I watched them slump to a 4-1 defeat. 2nd time in 2007 was a more prolonged trip and after a long drive from my base in LA I was thrilled to see them go 3-0 up at San Jose after 10 mins, however it all went down the toilet after that as to my horror and increasing disbelief the Sharks racked up 9 straight goals for a final of 9-4. From there it was on to the Staples Centre to see the Wings again go in front this time 2-0, before falling to a 4-2 loss against the Kings. Finally it was back to Anaheim for another 4-2 defeat, and for the good of the team I haven’t been back since (also in part for the good of my wallet).

  10. love the podcast every week but for some reason this week there was alot of loud static between the 1:30- 2hr mark, maybe it was just me, did anyone else experience this?
