Canadiens defenceman Bouillon back on skates, but won’t face Bruins

MONTREAL – There was a surprise skater on the ice for the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday morning – injured defenceman Francis Bouillon.Bouillon wasn’t ready to play in Game Two of the NHL Eastern Conference quarter-final against the Boston Bruins, but wanted to test his sore right ankle in a 15-minute skate with his teammates.

Carney comes through in OT, lifts Wild to 3-2 victory over Avs

PAUL, Minn. – With the young Minnesota Wild on the ropes, old man Keith Carney came through just in time.Carney scored on a slap shot 14 seconds into overtime to lift the Wild to a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night, tying the series 1-1 and giving a huge sigh of relief to more than 19,000 towel-waving fans.

Ovechkin’s late goal gives Capitals 5-4 victory over Flyers in Game 1

WASHINGTON – Boxed in and bumped around all game, Alex Ovechkin eventually figured out a way to make his NHL playoff debut a memorable one.Held without a shot until late in the third period, the league’s leading scorer stole the puck and netted the tiebreaking goal with 4 1/2 minutes remaining, leading the Washington Capitals to a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference first-round series Friday night.
