OTTAWA - Veteran goaltender Martin Gerber was placed on waivers by the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.The 34-year-old from Switzerland has until noon Friday to clear waivers, allowing the Sens to send him to Bighamton of the American Hockey League, or perhaps loan him to a European team as has been rumoured.
