ST. JOHN'S, N.L. - Premier Danny Williams is congratulating Detroit Red Wings forward Daniel Cleary on becoming the first player from Newfoundland and Labrador to win the Stanley Cup.

  1. Well deserved. Cleary was a superstar as a young kid with tremendous potential. Unfortunatly he didn’t learn the comittment necessary to make it in the NHL until working out with Chelios’ trainer and spending time with Draper in the off season at his gym. He should be congratulated and we’re glad he resigned with the Wings, he played a big role this season.
