Flyers trade Downie, Eminger to Lightning for Carle

The Tampa Bay Lightning and Philadelphia Flyers have made a trade after each team got off to a slower than anticipated start to the season. The Lightning dealt Matt Carle and San Jose's third round pick in 2009 to the Flyers in exchange for Steve Eminger, Steve Downie and Tampa Bay's fourth round pick in 2009.

  1. So they traded Dan Boyle for this guy, who they then turn around and deal him for two forwards they don’t need? Something is messed up down there in Tampa.
