Ducks place defenseman Mathieu Schneider on waivers

Needing to free up cap space to sign Teemu Selanne to a new deal, the Anaheim Ducks have placed defenseman Mathieu Schneider and his $5.75 million contract on waivers.

  1. In the 06′-07′ season while a Red Wing, Schneider said repeatedly that he wanted to stay in Detroit and that “it wasn’t about money”. He summarily left for money to go to the Ducks at the end of the season and now, is being dismissed due to the very reason he went to Anaheim. Karma is an interesting thing.
