TORONTO – The NHL suspended Montreal Canadiens forward Tomas Plekanec two games Thursday for taking down Edmonton Oilers defenceman Denis Grebeshkov from behind.

Phoenix Coyotes rookie Kyle Turris has been demoted to the San Antonio rampage of the American League.
The third overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Turris has notched six goals and 16 points in 50 games for Phoenix this season.

STOCKHOLM – Peter Forsberg returned to pro hockey Thursday night, scoring the opening goal in a 4-1 win for hometown club Modo against Skelleftea in the Swedish Elite League.
