Centre Frans Nielsen agrees to four-year deal with Islanders

UNIONDALE, N.Y. – Danish centre Frans Nielsen agreed to a US$2.1-million, four-year contract with the New York Islanders on Saturday. Nielsen, the first Danish citizen to play in the NHL during the 2006-07 season, split last season between the Islanders and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

IIHF suspends Radulov, Filatov and four other players

The International Ice Hockey Federation has suspended six players while they investigate their transfers between North America and Russia.

Alexander Radulov, Nikita Filatov, Thomas Mojzis, Jason Krog, Fedor Fedorov and Viktor Tikhonov are all being investigated by the governing body.
